This Tuesday it's Star wars night so strap on your balsters and practice your Jedi mind tricks.

Soon I will be starting a DnD story arc for anyone who wants to play. Do you have what it takes to face the might of Dracus the mighty?

We have board games, Magic the gathering and plenty of space to play tebletop games as well.

Come along and we'll see how long it takes for you to die!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Weekly Club News - Ways to Pay

Monday 29 November 2010 · 0 comments

Extra! Extra! New ways to pay for your month’s wargaming announced!

That’s right we are looking at making it even easier and cheaper to pay for your months wargaming. We are now into our second month as an established wargames club providing for Hull and the surrounding areas. What we want to do now is make coming to the club easier and more comfortable for everyone.

Sadly we have costs to cover so we must charge for you to enter the club. We do however want to make this as painless as possible for you all we are looking at charging a bulk cost for the month. After some discussion with some of the members and amongst the committee we have decided to charge as follows.

A month paying for 2 sessions a week would cost £20 at £2 a session. We are looking at giving you access every time we are open for a starting price of £15.

This means that you can come 4 times a week or 20 times a month for less that 50% of the cost it would normally cost if you paid per session.

Concessions will still be given a discount of 33% and will pay £10 per month.

You can pay this money in cash every month or you can set up a standing order to our bank account. Just talk to one of the committee to get this information.
Tell us what you think, would you be happy to pay this amount for a month’s wargaming? Will you be paying this way?
Thanks

Army Spotlight

Sunday 28 November 2010 · 3 comments

We're on the look out, we want to see what you've got! Over the next few months we are going to be looking for interesting Armies out there that you want to show off.

It's not about the system you play or how many points you have, we want to see the completed and work in progress armies that we may come up against in our games on a weekly basis. So if you have an army you want to show off just email me at ross@hulls-angels.co.uk and tell me about it.

Tell me about any special concepts you have. Are there any tricks that you use when planning an army. do you just concentrate on a storyline or are you a giant killer that just wants to use the new leafblower list to its full potential.

Get in contact and tell me about the way you have or are putting together your favorite force for your favorite rules system. come on were all waiting...

Bloodbowl League Begins!

Thursday 25 November 2010 · 0 comments

We like to try something different  here at Hulls Angels, not for us the standard campaign of Warhammer (thats in the calendar for next year) We are looking at running a Blood Bowl League across Xmas and the New Year. Ill let Bob and Bob take it from here,

Season One of the New Hulls Angles Orcidias League sees commissioner Dain “surehands” Stonehammer, ex-captain of the Khazad Klobbers branching out into a new territory.

I’m assured that rumours of match fixing and shady deals in back alleys were in no way related to the “personal reasons” that led to his speedy departure from his last league posting!

Quite right Bob, he will be sadly missed I’m sure. Still, with a brand new bunch of coaches all ready to do bloody murder to each other (and him if they don’t like the way things are being run!) he’ll have his work cut out for him.

So, how’s this season going to run then Bob?

Well Bob, I’m sure he’ll be bringing his own personal touches to the league but don’t worry though, this is still the game you all know and love, just as bloody and violent as ever!

Now here’s Gary with a rundown of this seasons structure, and remember kids, do NOT try this at home – go somewhere where your parents won’t see you!

The League starts on Thursday 2nd December and runs for 12 weeks. For more information just click on the Forum button at the top of the page, go to the specialist general discussion and look for a post called BloodBowl League Rules. It's all in there.

Please post any questions either at the bottom of this post or on the Forum.

I love Wargaming!

A bit of discussion for you tonight. We all chose to take part in this hobby for a reason. I suspect it wasn't to be spat on in the street or stripped of any cash, spare or otherwise every time you walked into a Games store. So why did we choose to become Wargames "Geeks"

The floor is yours. Tell us why did you become a Wargamer...

Tuesday 2 November 2010 · 0 comments

With Just 24 hrs until Hulls Angels unveil their new permises to the public we have news of the cost to members for the near future. We are looking at  how much you want to spend and are finding that you would rather spend £2 a visit.

So in an attempt to encourage you all to come and have a good look around we are slashing the prices of the club entrance for the next month to see if we can still foot the bill for our rent.

We will be charging £2 per visit for the whole of November with discounts 50% for children, students and the unemployed.

Keep watching this space for more incentives to join Hulls GCN wargames club as we will soon be releasing more opening times and a way for you to save even more money.

Remember the more of you who come the cheaper it is for all.
